At AD Dental Clinics we apply different treatments to solve bucco-dental problems. DENTAL CLEANING
It is advisable to have one dental cleaning a year, although in some cases it may advisable every 6 months. It is a fast, painless treatment that does not wear down the teeth. We use diverse instruments (Ultrasound, curettes, electric brush) to clean the teeth, eliminate the Plaque and tartar accumulated within the junction of the tooth with the gum. If your gums are delicate you may notice a slight sensitivity to thermal changes, which disappears within 10 days. During the first 24 hours after the dental cleaning the consumption of coffee, tea, tobacco, red wine and other foods with colouring agents must be avoided, after this time the saliva |
 | FILLING This is how we repair a damaged tooth or a tooth with Caries and we return its shape, function and ideal appearance. Firstly we remove the decayed material; we disinfect and fill the affected area with a specific material. This restoration material may be: Composite (in the colour of the tooth) or silver and mercury (metallic colour) Amalgam. The duration of each within the mouth tends to be approximately 5 to 8 years, although it depends on the type of patient: oral hygiene, area and tooth affected, if the patient grinds the teeth or bites objects. |
BRIDGES AND CROWNS
These are aesthetic fixed prostheses (without hooks) that we cement upon the teeth or implants.
We use crowns to cover and reinforce a destroyed, discoloured or fractured tooth, or tooth that has undergone an Endodontia (root canal treatment), and we use crowns to insert a bridge and cover an implant.
Bridges tend to be used to replace one of various teeth, which will serve as pillars so that the bridge or Crown fits perfectly. We then take a mould of the mouth in order to create the fixed apparatus, which may be gold, metal-ceramic, ceramic or zirconium and ceramic. While the laboratory produces the definitive prosthesis the patient will wear a provisional resin prosthesis to protect and aesthetically improve the sculpted teeth.
X-RAYS
We will carry out a panoramic radiography (orthopantomography), which will provide us with a complete view of the upper and lower Maxilla and the joint. It may also be necessary to carry out intraoral x-rays. Radiography is a method that helps us in the diagnosis of: retained teeth, abscesses, cysts, tumours, areas of tooth decay, status of wisdom teeth, location of anatomical structures and joint problems. The pregnant patient, or a patient who believes she could be, must warn personnel as it is totally contraindicated to carry out x-rays on pregnant women. |
